About Documentation Specialist

What does a Documentation Specialist do?

We, as Documentation Specialists, are administrative professionals and take responsibility for the maintenance of a company’s documents. We all are very meticulous and organized as it is our job to outline a long-term storage strategy and training employees on efficient usage of documentation. All of us also coordinate the approval of documents and distribution of sponsored documents. Our job is to gather, analyze, and compose technical information and be an expert in preparing documents, including researching applicable standards. Furthermore, we translate technical information into clear and readable documents to use both technical and non-technical personnel. All of us can multitask to work on many enterprise-level software applications needed for the company's day-to-day operations.

Core tasks:

  • documenting and mapping all existing procedures and processes into a common documentation structure
  • exerting physical strength to move all files and boxes
  • preparing and maintaining documentation about programming, systems operation, and client documentation
  • working with all office members to make sure everyone follows consistent documentation practices across the company
