A public school system - Douglas County School District is progressing to serve the communities of Georgia, Lithia Springs, Austell, Douglasville, Villa Rica and Winston. This school system was incorporated in 1958 and is based in Douglasville, operating twenty elementary, eight middle, and five high schools. Superintendent Trent North presides over the board of five administrators, each in charge of a specific sector of the county.
