Duval County Public School was founded in 1864 is an AdvanceED accredited educational institution headquartered at Jacksonville, Florida. Duval County operates more than 100 schools and ensures to keep every student inspired and prepared for success in college, career and future life. It consists of 99 elementary schools with 53,000 plus students, 21,000 plus in 24 middle, around 30,000 students in 19 high schools and more than 17,000 students in virtual, charter and alternative schools. This institute has a diverse community of educators, over 11,800 full-time staff including 8,200 plus teachers. With a graduation rate of 86.5% the school's mission is to provide educational excellence for each and every student in its campus. The Career and Technical Education program at Dual County creates a great opportunity for its students to explore their career options as needed, the school has also established 14 business partnerships for mentoring students and guiding them for post-secondary employment opportunities. In 2018 15 students earned 18 national Scholastics Art and Writing Awards.
