I worked on a beautiful island overseas I loved my job and the locals that we worked with. It was a demanding job a lot of hours because we were short staffed often out of supplies because of our location but I would do it all over again if I could

My tenure with DynCorp International began as a Force Protection Officer at Camp As Sayliyah, Dohar Qatar where I was rapidly promoted to Lead Guard/Trainer. I was then deployed to Afghanistan as a PSD Team Member. There; my background, skills, knowledge and TEAM leadership ability birthed attention to the Team's successes. I gained rapid promotion to PSD Team Lead, followed by Site Security Manager and assigned to numerous Sites throughout Afghanistan. I was the recipient of the DynCorp Star Awards, and commendations from many US and Afghan Officials for leadership excellence - which I attributed to the team for TEAMWORK. Other areas of responsibilities included but not limited to: Instructor and Subject Matter Expert with ISAF-SoF at the General Department of Police Special Unit in Wardak Province, and with Team Sub Zero training the Afghanistan Public Protection Force leading to my End of Mission.

Recruited for and agreed to a specific position, but expected responsibilities increased significantly after relocation to foreign site.

Pros and Cons
Salary was fair and responsibilities were reasonable according to original job posting.
Wasn't such a reasonable deal after I was relocated and committed to the situation.

State dept contract working with Afghan police training mission. Challanging logistics but good people to work with...for the most part...overseas mission...and all that goes with ex pat missions..great pay..reasonable support...good work, but you gotta be able to solve problems and get along with people..

The company doesn't know it's head from it's feet. Saying "we have too many system admins" when each person admins a completely different system is idiotic. Firing the Microsoft Exchange/Email admin and expecting the Oracle admin to be able to do both jobs shows how little they know about their own company. The place was constantly toxic and high pressure. They expected immediate results but didn't want to supply the proper tools to do it. Would never work there again, even if they begged. Plus, they're at the end of the runway at Alliance. The planes taking off are so loud, you cannot hold a simple conversation.
