East Carolina University (ECU) is a public research university and ranks fourth as the most supreme university in North Carolina and was established on March 8,1907 as a teacher training school located in Greenville, North Carolina. The university has developed from 43 acres to almost 1,600 acres today and its academic facilities are located on six properties. The vision of ECU’s first president , Robert Wright was that the university provides an education which is equal to the very best institutions of higher learning and also elevates the quality of life for the entire region. To be a national model for student success,public service and regional transformation, the university uses creative and innovative strategies for learning, prepares students with the knowledge,skills and values to achieve success in a global and multicultural society. It achieves its mission with the help of education,research,creative activities and service while being good attendants of the resources entrusted to us.
