Eckerd College is a private educational institution located in St. Petersburg, Florida, US. The liberal arts college was founded in 1958, religiously affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and accredited by the southern association of colleges and schools. The college is known to award bachelor of fine arts, bachelor of science, and a bachelor of arts degrees, offering over 40 majors and six pre-professional programs. Some of the majors include; Anthropology, Chemistry, Ancient Studies, Business Administration, Creative Writing, Economics, French, History, Literature, Marine Science, Physics, Philosophy, Theatre, Religious Studies, Management Visual Arts, and more. Students are also permitted to design their majors if necessary. The college is equipped with research centers and libraries, and the US News & World Report ranked it 140th out of 223 national liberal arts colleges in the US for 2020. Eckerd possesses several athletic teams in various sports such as volleyball, basketball, women and men’s soccer, coed sailing, etc. In 2018, the college recorded an endowment of $58.3 million.
