About Educational Assistant

What does an Educational Assistant do?

As Educational Assistants, we help with classroom management for individual students and small focus groups.We ensure the mental well-being and personal development of our students during class. We also supervise students during non-classroom times, such as during lunch, in-between classes, and on-field excursions, ensuring that no injury occurs while strictly following state and school regulations. We are also responsible for attending to students’ emotional, academic, personal, and physical needs, especially special needs students who need it the most.

Core tasks:

  • administer first aid to distressed students, take them to the nurse for any needed injection (e.g., Insulin)
  • perform clerical duties such as grading tests and tracking student’s attendance
  • prepare educational materials designed for special needs students
