RESPONSIBILTIES:
o Review materials used by manufacturing operations and maintain Safety Data Sheet database
o Responsible for conducting weekly safety inspections such as Hazardous Waste areas.
o Evaluation and implementation of Personal Protective Equipment
o Perform Job Safety Analysis and Risk Assessments
o Develop a thorough knowledge of equipment and materials used in the facility, including pollution control devices
o Aid in the timely preparation of required reports to regulatory agencies as requested
o Develop and implement procedures/SOPs to reduce safety/environmental risks and to address emergency situations
o Develop and provide EHS related training programs on various EHS topics including Lab Safety, Respirator Program, PPE. Hearing Conservation, First Aid/CPR, LOTO, Chemical Hygiene, and Hazardous Communication
o Maintain Sustainability Report and records
o Collaborate with management to further the objectives of health and safety programs
o Facilitate and manage employee-based Safety Committee
o Coordinate annual EHS training matrix
o Coordinate and develop training & drills for Emergency Evacuation requirements
o Serve an active role in the incident investigation process and root cause analysis
o Other tasks as deemed necessary
Requirements:
o Minimum of 2 years of ehs experience in a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
o Familiar with EHS programs and regulatory requirements.
o Associate Degree
o OSHA 10 hour course completion or within 60 days of employment
o Knowledge of OSHA standards, including Injury record keeping.
o Computer literate on PC and related software.
o Effective interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
o Effective analytical, technical, and problem solving skills.
o Effective presentation and meeting skills.
o Effective leadership and goal setting skills.
o Ability to use analytical and critical thinking skills
