About EHS Specialist

What does an EHS Specialist do?

As EHS Specialists, we oversee professional and technical consultants and give recommendations, training presentations, and operational support to plant staff. We also give technical and strategic input. We continue to get better and expand upon existing programs by soliciting feedback from all clients and customers and develop and apply environmental and specific safety-related initiatives, reports, training, and presentations, and we perform risk analysis on method sheets and standard operating methods and assist EHS specialists in safety team meetings. Additionally, we review SOPs and work practices to identify any safety concerns and communicate, administer, and maintain existing safety and industrial hygiene programs, policies, and procedures, and stock and distribute safety supplies.

Core tasks:

  • submit and track facilities and maintenance work orders and organize, file, and maintain safety documentation
  • perform basic risk evaluations and safety inspects dock inspections, and ergonomic lifting audits
  • address, document, and support safety and support light-duty job placement evaluations
  • gather data for any assessments being conducted and make sure that all documentation is on incident reports
