The El Camino Hospital Auxiliary was established in 1958. The idea was conceptualized in the mid-1950s when the fields and orchards in Mountain and Los Altos were fast becoming commercial and suburban areas. A group of concerned physicians and citizens came together and established the community hospital. It started with 1000 members during its launch. The healthcare facility started operating with 21 members of staff in 1960. It admitted its first batch of patients in 1961. During its launch, there was a problem with availability and access to hospital facilities by the local people. The health care facilities have countrywide recognized physicians and caregivers committed to delivering quality healthcare services to the people.
