About Elevator Technician

What does an Elevator Technician do?

We, elevator technicians, maintain the elevators for our clients. We service the moving walkways, elevators, and escalators. We oversee the installation of new escalators and elevators. Our duties include performing regular maintenance. We repair the parts and equipment in case of errors. We are responsible for the implementation of safety tests. As elevator technicians, we install the electrical systems for escalators and elevators. In addition, we test the systems. We oversee the juniors working on the equipment. We respond to mechanical errors and malfunctions. Some of us also maintain and service the machine and equipment parts. Above all, we implement safety checks for escalators and elevators.

Core tasks:

  • greasing up and oiling different parts
  • maintaining the working area
  • keeping an eye on supplies and stocks
