Emory Healthcare is a wonderful organization to work for and expand ones opportunity to learn and grow. However, what is worrying not just for myself but other colleagues whom work for Emory and other healthcare organizations. Is the the healthcare industry is heading in the wrong direction of less and less interest in patient and care givers and more focus on upper management and business than healthcare.

These are the things I learned over a 30 year career there.
Everyone is expendable
Your salary and benefits never exceed the other local healthcare entities
They will listen to you, have meetings over issues, but never actually do anything
Incompetence is promoted
You will be ground into dust in the wheels of the administrators (they have so many)
Did I mention you are expendable?
They paid only time and a quarter for working call, not even overtime.
I am retired now. I am so much happier.

The multinational and cultural environment is great.
They are cheap. All about paperwork.
