About Environment Artist

What does an Environment Artist do?

As Environment Artists, we are responsible for creating environments in collaboration with other designers and artists following organization standards. We coordinate within the team to design layouts aligned with project and customer requirements. We also translate concept art and design ideas into specified environments. Ensuring timely completion of projects within given timelines is also part of our duty. We create models and assemble scenes for both organic and architectural environments. Working as Environment Artists, we are responsible for making and editing digital designs using modern software such as adobe photoshop and Maya. Finally, we also troubleshoot any technical and artistic issues.

Core tasks:

  • providing budget and time estimate for a particular project
  • communicating effectively with other departments to ensure proper implementation of project guidelines
  • ensuring availability of proper equipment and tools before starting any project
  • creating realistic 3D models and textures from concept arts and photo reference
