What does an EPIC Application Analyst do?

As EPIC Application Analysts, we design and maintain Information Services technology, applications, and programs. We maximize organizational performance for Epic systems. We ensure the integration of technology in the effective workflow. We facilitate Epic vision development and solution design. We evaluate technology, systems, and application capabilities. We perform analysis and implementation of Epic and related application systems. We participate in solution testing. We evaluate requests for programming. We are responsible for Epic software analysis and implementation. We also oversee application support and issue resolution. We interact with Operational and IT personnel. We identify and configure systems to meet user and organizational requirements.

Core tasks:

  • develop system design based upon the analysis of specific operational needs
  • analyze operational requirements, propose effective solutions
  • understand workflow practices
  • perform unit, system, and integration testing per standards
  • ensure applications are well supported
  • optimize and support application/system
  • troubleshoot and resolve production support issues
  • initiate escalation procedures
  • identify potential issues
