EPIC is an electronic medical record software application that supports functions related to patient care and clinical systems. As EPIC application coordinators, we are responsible for the design, configuration, and maintenance of such applications for our organization. We need to have in-depth knowledge of the software functionalities, as well as the organization's work processes, in order to be able to tailor the application to business needs. We work together with multiple departments to design new workflows and build the system that supports them. We often participate in the training of and provide ongoing support to end users. We are usually either employed by healthcare organizations or consulting firms.
