About Epidemiologist

What does an Epidemiologist do?

As Epidemiologists, our role is to investigate and prevent outbreaks. Our chief duties include studying the roots and spread of infectious ailments. Finally, we create methods for identifying, containing, and stopping future outbreaks. Being Epidemiologists, we work with scientists and medical professionals. We monitor outbreaks, gather data, and report results to the people and policy definers. We work at research institutes in both part-time and full-time roles.

Core tasks:

  • travel to sites to observe and research the spread of infectious illnesses
  • interact with the public to collect disease-related information with the help methods including questionnaires and studies
  • perform laboratory examinations to analyze data
  • use computer systems to develop, calculate, and study the data
  • report findings in conferences and presentations
