Job Summary:

ESPN International Production Intern will work with the ESPN China team to support ESPN’s content creation for our Chinese sports fans, and to service ESPN’s partnership with Tencent, one of the biggest digital companies in the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the day-to-day operation of production content and logistics
  • Works in conjunction with operations department to assist with logistics
  • Organizes and distributes show production elements and materials
  • Supports staff, Talent, Producers, Associate Producers, and Production Assistants on the systematic processes of assigned sport/show unit
  • Works with upper management on scheduling of assigned personnel, regarding event and show assignments, tracks personnel overtime and vacation time
  • Plans, requests and allocates production facility needs of assigned sports/shows.
  • Operates within the context of defined production goals and objectives
  • Decisions are guided by established corporate policies and production operational policies
  • Responsible for dealing with time-sensitive materials and decisions
  • During production peak times, remains accessible and is often required to work non- traditional days/hours
  • Domestic traveling for productions may be required


Basic Qualifications:
  • Speak, read and write bilingual capabilities in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Passion for the NBA, and strong knowledge of other major US and global sports
  • Unparalleled knowledge of the China sports market and Chinese sports fans
  • Fluency with social media platforms in both US and China
  • Great work ethics, willingness to learn new skills, and detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Strong collaborator with others and a clear communicator in a virtual environment via texts, phones call, emails, and conference calls
  • Familiarity with sports media landscape, including knowledge of business trends and technologies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a professional role, organization or activity

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong capability to communicate in a virtual environment in both Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Ability to translate an NBA video segment from English to simplified Chinese
  • Non-linear editing skill using software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or Avid
  • Knowledge to operate a prosumer camera or DSLR to shoot videos
  • Capability to publish text and video content on Chinese social media platforms such as Weibo

Required Education
  • Enrolled as a junior, senior or graduate student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship or graduated within the past 18 months.

Internship Eligibility:
  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR graduated within the past 18 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates:
The approximate dates are June 7 – August 13, 2021. Interns will work 40 hours per week and must be fully available throughout the internship.

Work Environment:
This is a remote internship. The internship requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated work space.
