What does an Event Sales Manager do?

As event sales managers, we specialize in selling virtual or in-person events, conferences, and banquets; or event space on behalf of venue providers. We identify prospective clients and approach them via various channels. We act as a point of contact for event details and customer enquiries. We often also take part in the coordination of the event itself.

Core tasks:

  • identifying potential customers, designing sales funnel
  • contacting prospective customers (phone, mail, social media, etc.), promoting events
  • running targeted campaigns
  • negotiating deals, contracting
  • developing and maintaining long lasting business relationships
  • networking in the events and conference industry
