Headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, Everest Re Group is a reinsurance company that was established in 1973 and founded by the name Prudential Reinsurance which is a subsidiary of Prudential Financial. In 1996, the company was renamed Everest Re after Mount Everest. The company specializes in providing insurance and reinsurance products and services to an international set of customers that include poverty, crop, professional liability, worker’s compensation, and accidental insurance. According to the 2016 data, 70% of the premiums were from reinsurance, with the rest in insurance, and total premiums were around $6 billion.
