We are looking for a stellar Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) to lead MRM East’s multi-disciplined strategy team and be a core member of our agency leadership team in the region. This talented individual will continue our quest to drive great work for our clients. The CSO will be responsible for turning insights into actionable strategies and creative recommendations, across the entire channel ecosystem, with a particular focus on digital transformation.

The CSO will report to the Global Chief Strategy Officer. Must be collaborative, passionate, creative, and support diversity and inclusion efforts.

Responsibilities:

Act as MRM East strategic lead to develop holistic strategies that can be applied across multiple business lines and channels, especially long-range digital vision for clients.

Build/lead a next generation function that infuses creative with breakthrough, brand-, media-, and customer- driven insights

Build/lead a next generation research function that drives longitudinal insights across product and customer categories

Work intimately with cross-disciplinary leadership team on brand, overall marketing strategy, and campaign execution

Collaborate in lock step across McCann Worldgroup network of agencies and partners, encouraging team efforts and balancing multiple needs and expectations.

Develop strategies for multiple channels, with a practical understanding of the technologies, tactics and data leveraged to achieve these strategies.

Serve as key strategy leader for new business development and the scaling/servicing of additional agency clients

Provide insight and expertise to other staff in managing all aspects of strategy: qualitative, quantitative and behavioral

Sell strategy and creative executions by communicating consumer knowledge to clients

Manage career development of team of direct reports

Qualifications:

Demonstrated success in building/leading a scaled strategy and research capability in an agency environment with evidence of breakthrough innovation across these disciplines

Deep understanding demonstrated experience of digital strategy and digital transformation.

Strategic and holistic view of how diverse insights (brand, media, consumer) drive brand platforms and associated downstream, cross-channel campaign executions—especially in the current context of media fragmentation, technology proliferation, consumer empowerment and globalization.

Deep understanding of the research methodologies that underpin these insights and demonstrated success in motivating a team to uncover/expand upon them to help motivate outstanding creative.

Ability to cultivate a deep, proactive understanding of the market and the company’s constituencies and leverages that to identify new business opportunities.

Experience with customer experience strategy, customer journey mapping and segmentation.

Solid grounding in research and behavioral analysis including both primary/secondary and qualitative/quantitative research methodologies.

Must be a polished, persuasive, and strategic communicator – both written and verbal/presentation.

Minimum of 15 years’ work experience in direct/digital agencies, digital strategic consulting or marketing, communications or brand strategy.

Minimum of 7 year’s supervisory and management experience required.

Bachelors or Masters in related field required.
