Live Out Housekeeper Position Upper East Side, New York
High Profile Family seeking to hire a housekeeper Monday to Friday, 8am to 6 pm for their Fifth Ave home. The ideal candidate will be one whose personality is flexible, intelligent, anticipatory and personable. Success in this position will be someone who does not need a lot of direction once they have been trained to work and someone who respects authority, is self confident and an overall happy person. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment with a hands-on approach to provide essential domestic assistance for the entire household
Responsibilities of the Live Out Housekeeper Position Upper East Side, New York
Kitchen:
  • Preparing breakfast, lunch and/or dinner as needed
  • Cleaning kitchen and breakfast area
  • Keeping refrigerator clean and discarding out-of-date items
  • Cleaning the oven as required
  • Load and Empty Dishwasher
  • Wash dishes and clean kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware.
  • Wipe down kitchen cabinets; wipe light switches
Bedrooms:
  • Make beds and change bed linens weekly, rotating sheets and ironing.
  • Vacuum bedrooms
  • Clean surfaces and wipe down daily
Bathrooms:
  • Tidying and cleaning bathrooms
  • Cleaning unused rooms on a less frequent basis
  • Polishing brass and silver, antiques and fine furniture
  • Cleaning windows inside
Laundry:
  • Collecting, sorting, washing, ironing and returning laundry to the appropriate place
  • Changing soiled towels daily
  • Hand washing delicate items
  • Managing the wardrobe
  • Arranging dry-cleaning
  • Ironing as needed
  • Using a standing fabric steamer to remove wrinkles from clothing
Errands:
  • Shopping online for groceries, household supplies, etc.
  • Visit local merchants for pick up and drop off of items as needed
  • Dust and Polish furniture as required
  • Answering door and telephone
  • Feeding and exercising pets (currently 2 dogs) on a regular basis
  • Empty wastebaskets, empty other trash and waste to disposal areas
Exterior:
  • Keeping patios, pathways and steps clean and tidy
  • Watering household plants and flower arranging
  • Carrying out weekly grocery shopping
  • Maintain a well-stocked home with supplies
  • Dealing with vendors, suppliers and contractors
  • Managing security alarms
  • Carrying out any other tasks that the employer may reasonably ask
Other:
  • Informing the employer when an issue is discovered so that the issue can be addressed

Requirements of the Full Time Housekeeper on the Upper East Side, New York
  • Proven Experience as a Housekeeper
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Prioritization and time management skills
  • Capable of working quickly without comprising quality
  • High School Degree
  • US Citizen or in possession of a valid Green Card
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
  • Occasionally stay over

Compensation of the Full Time Housekeeper on the Upper East Side, New York
  • Salary: DOE

TASKS

  • Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established standards.
  • Perform or assist with cleaning duties as necessary.
