Lipstick on a pig. Hired to replace manager who was promoted to manager of managers. Layoffs announced in march - from march to May I was told I did not meet expectations for anything - typo in presentation, not responding to an email quickly enough, asking him to review a report before I sent to the team, asking for guidance in proposed changes to policy- and the best one m.. I said someone’s name wrong in a meeting. In our last 1:1 before the May layoff. he says, “I have to say that if you don’t get laid off you should look for another job because you’re not qualified to work at Meta. None of the feedback was ever documented in the performance management system. I email HR and copied my personal email telling the HR person “it’s clear that he knows that he will be demoted to an IC (individual contributor) role in the May layoff and he is building a case for me to be let go so he has his old role back”. HR said “why would he ever do that?” Well, he did and is in his old role !

Pros and Cons
Lots of wonderful smart people. Always challenges to work in and learn. Lived my job.
Managers who should not be managing. Lots of politics and layers.
