About Family Consultant

What does a Family Consultant do?

As family consultants, we take responsibility for providing risk assessments to the family. We also act as mediators in a family whenever any dispute arises whenever internal or external dispute. We have a responsibility to provide psychological counsel to the family members and report to them as per the Family Law Act and Family Court Act. We also have to undertake the assessment of the risk factors such as mental health, family violence, and drug and substance abuse. We help families going through a divorce to eventually reach an agreeable agreement.

Core tasks:

  • provide a risk assessment for the family
  • act as a mediator for the family
  • counsel and report as per the Family Law Act
  • recommend best approaches to handle child custody
