Family Law Paralegal
Charlotte, North Carolina

Currently recruiting for a Family Law Paralegal to join a growing Law Firm in Charlotte, NC. In this role, the Family Law Paralegal will provide outstanding customer service to all clients by educating and guiding them throughout the case process. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple clients/assignments at once and thrive in a team-based approach, while also having the ability to work independently. The candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in family law. The firm offers an exciting culture with amazing growth opportunities along with a generous salary, great benefits and PTO.

Position Summary for the Family Law Paralegal:
- Responsible for legal research and writing.
- Draft letters and complaints.
- Prepare motions and orders.
- Prepare discovery questions and answers.
- Responsible for Trial Preparation.
- Manage the Attorney's calendar.
- Manage and meet case deadlines.
- Answer telephones, and interact with counsel, judicial officers and clients.
- Client development and acquisition.

Qualifications Summary for the Family Law Paralegal:
- Must have at least 3-5 years of family law experience.
- NC Certification is preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Manage multiple clients/assignments at once.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks according to importance.
- Excellent talent for interacting with people in a positive and courteous manner.
- Thrive in a team-based approach, while also having the ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, punctual, accurate.

TASKS

  • Prepare affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence, and organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system.
  • Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements.
  • Prepare for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits.
  • Investigate facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.
