Family Medicine

The Department of Family Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking board certified/eligible Family Medicine Physicians for outpatient positions in our community-based practice sites located throughout Northeast Ohio.

The department provides outstanding preventative, acute and chronic disease care for families in settings that are conveniently located and patient-focused. Many of our practices are recognized as Patient Centered Medical Homes, and feature a team-based approach to optimize patient care and satisfaction. About the Family Medicine Physician role

Physicians & Surgeons Family Medicine Physician

As Family Medicine Physicians, we provide a comprehensive medical service for family members based on their individual medical records. We review our patients’ data and maintain an accurate record for allergies, medical problems, medications, and immunization status. We are also responsible for prescribing and administering a variety of treatments such as medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury as well as performing emergency therapy sessions. We perform, order, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports such as blood pressure/PH, glycemia, and hemoglobin levels and diagnose patients' condition.

Core tasks:

  • monitor the patients’ condition and their response to treatments
  • explain procedures and discuss test results with our patients
