FNMA is a fast paced high stress work environment. You'll get paid very well with great benefits if you can handle the stress.

Pros and Cons
Great Benifits
Very stressful.

I worked as a contractor for nearly five months for Fannie Mae in Reston, Virginia. During that time I sat in a cubicle with virtually no interaction with others. My supervisor was never there. Although this was before Covid this man was physically in the office only a hand full of days during that period. If I had a question there was no one other than my supervisor that could provide information. That man made it quite clear that he didn't want me there. He gave me little information about my job, provided no help, and was actively hostile. He was Asian Indian and spoke poor English. What he wanted was another Indian working for him. A majority of the people working in that building are Indian and a certain number actively discriminate against Americans. It is a highly dysfunctional place full of secrets and unknowable rules. Since I am autistic this environment was the worst possible one I could be in. It made my life a living hell.

Pros and Cons
None. It is a horrible place to work.
A hostile, discriminatory place.

This was a very good place to work. All employees were treated with dignity. I really loved working there.

Pros and Cons
The company even sent us to Alabama for a major 3 months project with all accommodations paid for.
Unfortunately, the contract only lasted 6 months

I would still be working at Fannie Mae today if I had the opportunity, I absolutely loved my job, but unfortunately I lost it due to downsizing. Absolutely great place to work.

Pros and Cons
Friendly office, lots of fun, subsided lunch.
Unsure of current parking situation, but parking was free when I worked there.
