FDA is a federal organization responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the control and supervision of tobacco, food safety, dietary supplements, prescription and pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, cosmetics, and veterinary products. The agency's primary focus is the enforcement of the Federal drug, food, and cosmetic act, but it also enforces other laws and associated regulations. The FDA works within the Department of Health and Human Services and is led by the Commissioner of Food and Drugs appointed with the Senate's consent. The agency is also responsible for advancing the people's health by helping to speed innovations that make medical products more efficient, safer, and more affordable. FDA was founded in 1906, and its headquarter is based in White Oak Campus, Silver Spring, Maryland, United States. The firm helps the public to get the accurate, science-based information they want to use medical products and foods to improve and maintain their health.
