FEMA is a government Agency that was founded in 1979 through an executive order by President Jimmy Carter. On March 1, 2003, FEMA came under the Department of Homeland Security. It has the capacity to coordinate within the federal government to make sure America is equipped to prepare for disasters. Mission of the FEMA is to help and cooperate people before, during and after disasters. FEMA has program offices and regional offices located across the United States. Headquartered in Washington, D.C. FEMA has 10 regional offices located throughout the nation employing more than 20,000 employees whereas the workforce can increase up to 50,000 active members during major disasters. When disaster strikes, FEMA supports survivors and responds to save communities throughout the nation. The company even publishes newsletters contains information for emergency management and region-specific material for the general public. FEMA faces challenges on a routine basis with skilled and knowledgeable, workforce.
