What does a Field Investigator do?

We, field investigators, use our critical thinking skills to solve cases. Our responsibility is to observe suspects that gather information and physical evidence vital to a criminal investigation.Communication skills and strategizing techniques are employed to gather maximum information from the witnesses. We, field investigators, conduct interviews with the suspects, witnesses, and the informants. After the information is gathered through surveillance, comprehensive intelligence reports are written.

Core tasks:

  • performing active surveillance of suspects
  • writing precise intelligence reports
  • interviewing all the parties involved in the case
  • presenting physical evidence to support all of the claims made in the intelligence report
