About Financial Aid Counselor

What does a Financial Aid Counselor do?

As Financial Aid Counselors, we counsel and advise customers about their financial aid eligibility, costs, indebtedness, application procedures, money management, and financial planning. We collect and analyze all of the customers’ financial data in order to determine their creditworthiness and eligibility for any federal aid. We make adjustments or revisions to costs, contributions after evaluating the effects of unusual circumstances on customers’ creditworthiness. We also assist in the preparation and presentation of information related to federal financial aid, employment, and grants for various regions during meetings, group discussions, and workshops.

Core tasks:

  • ensure that the provided information is individualized and specifically revolves around that customers
  • analyze system-generated reports on the customers’ financial transaction to verify their compliance with the set plan
