About Financial Aid Specialist

What does a Financial Aid Specialist do?

As Financial Aid Specialists, we verify the accuracy of financial aid documents and the consistency of financial data, federal tax returns, and perform data analysis to identify discrepancies in data to determine the correct action to resolve those issues. We request from the customer additional information to complete or correct their application in order to perform accurate need analysis and answer their questions, and inquiries regarding lenders, and guarantee agencies in writing or by telephone regarding financial aid eligibility and awards.

Core tasks:

  • enter information into the database, and correct any errors
  • conduct routine exit interviews with customers in accordance with the federal regulations and processes for customers leaving their job
  • partake in the annual audit of customers’ record
