As Fire Captains, we perform our duty serving as a confidential staff advisor to the Fire Chief in researching, recommending, implementing, and enforcing policies, directives, and procedures in the Fire Department. We implement the departments’ goals and objectives through a comprehensive and realistic administration program and oversee the department operations by inspections, and training new Fire Fighters under the direction of the Fire Chief. We also undertake the role of officer-in-charge of all fire, rescue, and medical operations for any assigned shift to correctly direct and manage all subordinate officers and fire crews to appropriate assignments to ensure that the plan of action is followed safely and efficiently.
