About Fire Sprinkler Designer

What does a Fire Sprinkler Designer do?

As Fire Sprinkler Designers, we evaluate construction contract documents and communicate with project managers, sub-contractors and general contractors, and owners to get the required information to design the project's sprinkler system. We provide technical expertise during the design phase for example schematic and design development to coordinate spaces required for those systems and demonstrate thorough use of analytical thinking and problem solving, determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities. Additionally, we layout and size equipment, perform hydraulic calculations, perform load calculations and investigate code requirements, and coordinate between disciplines and produce working documents using AutoCAD and communicate effectively with all parties that are involved in the design and construction work.

Core tasks:

  • make stock list for all material required in the project
  • develop initial schedules for preliminary project work and maintain design historical records for future use.
  • develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to make sure the company is meeting client expectations
  • coordinate with other departments within the office to make sure proper handover of job information
