About Firmware Engineer

What does a Firmware Engineer do?

As Firmware Engineers, we are responsible for specifying, designing, releasing, supporting, and implementing various embedded software products for the R&D software development department while participating in embedded design projects from concept to production. We also develop utilities using scripting as well as C/C++ in support of the embedded system development process using Linux. We supervise junior-level developers or the company’s contract personnel in a senior-level design/development role and lead small interdisciplinary teams in the completion of the embedded software engineering project.

Core tasks:

  • write and execute the system test plan
  • design and implement software for embedded devices as required
  • develop, design, code, and debug system software
