I began working at Five Guys around 2021 before i graduated high school, the pay at the time was $12.50 which was fine because i would work 8hrs shifts everyday and occasionally on weekends. The work environment was fast paced and very a very friendly staff.
Pros and Cons
The free food would we get from trading with other restaurants.
They didn’t raise my pay for almost 7months

Shift Lead

I worked at Fives Guys for 3 years as a shift leader. Most of my shifts were unsupervised as I was the assigned manager at the time. The food is really good and fresh, it's by far the cleanest restaurant I ever worked in. Management is stingy with raises and scheduling shifts with enough people. I was always sweating and rushing around trying to get things done. One of the hardest jobs physically that I have had. I would recommend being a crew member at Fives Guys, becoming a manager is not worth it for what they're paying you. Probably would have quit much sooner if I didn't like my coworkers so much.
Pros and Cons
Free lunch, less direct supervision, clean, fun environment
Always hot in the kitchen, high standards on cleanliness, night shift doesn't leave until 11 or 12

As long as you do what you were hired to do. It's a good place to work at. Make sure to tell your GM about what days you want to work and hours because it will change your work to life balance.
Pros and Cons
If you want to move up you can as long as you show you want to and put in the effort.
If you have close be ready to be there for a while since you have to clean.

Worked here for several years, always paid unfairly in comparison to other jobs. The amount of work you do compared to the paycheck you receive biweekly is awful, and I would recommend looking elsewhere for employment as it is that bad.
Pros and Cons
Free meal, secret shopper
Poor pay, lacking food safety at times

It's fast food easy money you know how it goes but at this five guys. Could not get a good schedule and a control freak of a manager, just too much. I worked there for over half a year (9 months). Just kept getting worse less and less employees.
Pros and Cons
One free meal per shift.
Not good at scheduling

I started as a cashier and i worked mornings and the mornimg crew had to do the prepping for the days works. It was fun you get to know your workers and build freindships. I also learned the grill and frie station and to make the sandwiches as a team . i was training to become a manger.
Pros and Cons
You get a discount on your food and you will meet a freindly crew. They work hard.

I worked here when I was 16, it was my first job that was 4 years ago so the place probably changed, but they worked me until at least 12 am every night and I didn’t know that was illegal at the time. They also made me closer on school nights and opener on weekends, we had someone stealing cash out of our register and the money was taken out of our tips. I met the branch manager he was nice and I don’t think he knew what was going on later the manager I had was fired and as was her son who was also a manager. The job itself is okay it’s pressuring for what you are paid for, but you do get good money from tips and from secret shoppers. It in all is a good experience because it teaches you what most jobs expect.
Pros and Cons
Bonus, training, and secret shoppers
Pay, quality
