Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Under general supervision is responsible for functions related to teaching and training both undergraduate level courses; advising students, supervising student research assistants; engaging in the scholarly activities in areas relevant to the department and college, and assuming departmental and college committee responsibilities.
Essential Duties Summary
- Teach assigned Professional flight related courses and associated labs.
- Maintain written instructional standards, facilitate instruction using alternative delivery methods, inform students in writing of instructional standards, posts and maintain office hours; participates in assessment of students learning outcomes; establish, maintain and submit accurate student and instructional records in a timely manner.
- Support the Chief Instructor in maintaining training records, enrollment certificates, and Federal Aviation Administrative ( FAA ) directives and rules.
- Stay up-to-date on regulatory and procedural changes in the flight environment and support the Chief Instructor in flight training program courses, development of new courses, curriculum.
- Apply and maintain standards of quality operating methods processes, systems and procedures, implements changes as necessary to maintain compliant Professional Pilot program.
- Supervise flight training activities as assigned by Chief Instructor and ensure annual recurrent proficiency checks are in accordance to FARs.
- Maintain a cooperative and communicative relationship with the FAA representatives and well as serving on committee as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with FAR 141.35 Chief Instructor qualifications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range $41,509 - $55,000.00
Education Master's degree (Master of Science). Aviation Flight Instructor must have a master's degree in one of the following fields: Aviation Management, Business Administration in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, Aviation Science, Aerospace Administration or Commercial Aviation or related field.
Required Licensing/Certification ATP , CFI , CFII , MEI preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of: - Policies, procedures, and practices.
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
Skill in: - Multitasking and time management.
- Interpersonal.
- Presenting.
- Both verbal and written communication.
Ability to: - Contribute in teaching, and service at a level necessary to help the department maintain accreditation.
- Should demonstrate commitment to mentoring students.
- Must be able to work with a diverse student and faculty population.
Work Experience Three (3) years of experience as an instructor.
Working/Environmental Conditions - Prolonged standing and/or walking.
- Handling light weight objects.
- Using or carrying equipment.
- Work may require routine travel.
