Flint Energies, established in 1937, is a non - profit organization member-owned electric corporation that serves private, commercial, retail, and agricultural members in sections of 17 main Georgia counties. Flint hires 230 people and services over 250,000 Georgians with 88,000 meters. Flint's physical plant contains over 6,600 miles of the distribution system and 50 substations in the counties of Bibb, Dooly, Harris, Houston, Macon, Chattahoochee, Crawford, Marion, Monroe, Muscogee, Taylor, Talbot, Twiggs, Peach, Schley, Sumter, and Upson. The network also contains the Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation and the Fort Benning military installation. The Fort Benning military post, as well as the Museum of Aviation around Robins Air Force Base, are also part of the program. Flint is the eighth biggest of Georgia's 38th largest of the almost 1,000 rural electric cooperatives in the United States.
