Founded in 1996 by the Florida legislature, Florida Department of Health (FDOH) is accountable for protecting the health and safety of the residents and visitors of the Florida state. The company is accountable to the State Legislature, the Executive Office of the Governor, all residents and visitors in the state, and the federal government. The department is led by a State Surgeon General, who serves as the State Health Officer and directly appointed by the government of Florida and confirmed by the Senate of Florida. FDOH lives with a vision that health belongs to everyone and every group, not just a state agency. The environmental Health professionals at the Florida Department of Health in Gulf and Franklin counties protect the health of the community. Currently, the department is looking for individuals who can serve in a variety of roles.
