The state of Florida in the US has two houses of the Florida Legislature, of which the Florida House of Representatives is the lower house. The house was founded in 1845 and consisted of 120 seats, occupied by elected members, as the elections take place within intervals of two years. The house is usually led by a speaker, majority and minority leader, and a speaker pro tempore. Members of the Florida House of Representatives hold meetings at the House of Representatives Chamber located in Tallahassee, Florida. With authorization from the Florida Constitution, the house is responsible for the amendment and creation of laws in the form of bills that are proposed by the legislation of the state; that governs the State of Florida. The house amends and creates about 300 laws annually, as it also can impeach officials and suggest the amendment of laws to the Florida Constitution.
