With the economy, the way that it has been for years, even people who have planned and implaced for retirement have foum. That sometimes it's just not enough. That a part-time job could feel and will feel a lot of gaps missing and their plans. But again, you showed no partiality against the elderly or people of handicap to the point where they do not get A. Chanyes, that is something to be said for and the fact that your company gives us a care for the communities, they are with them.

I have never worked in the deli, and people didn't even want to train me, and it made the job hard! So the positions were hard to work because didnt treat you like you were apart of a team, i just wanted to learn and no one except the deli manager was the only one showing me how it was suppose to be done. I only lasted 2 weeks.0

Food Lion openly discriminates against Straight White employees. The corporate culture has totally gone over the Woke Edge. They pay part time employees less per hour than full time, even with the same job description working side by side. That violates Federal Labor Laws. Management is not responsive to employee concerns.

You'll be expected to do considerably more work than what you agreed to during your interview. You're pay won't go up but your workload will more than double. And they will work you that way for as long as you'll tolerate it. Constantly short staffed and the company as a whole doesn't seem to care enough to fix any issues.

Pros and Cons
Steady paycheck if you show up.
Little to no training, very little room to grow. Raises are anywhere from $0.05-$0.45 a year.

I worked at this location for 2 years. In that time frame, I started off as the maintenance guy and was able to transition to the grocery crew within a few months of working there. I had no prior stocking experience but I was able to assimilate quite easily. For about a year and a half, the management was the best management I ever had. They were more than happy to work around my school schedule which is something I never experienced before. Fast forward to just before COVID hit, there was a new store assistant manager who acted like a complete dictator. They were very aggressive in enforcing the rules, which is fine by me, but the way that they handled it could have been better. My first time meeting the new manager was several months after the new management arrived at the store. They said that due to the amount of call outs I had (even before they got to the store) called for termination. They said the only acceptable call outs were if you got COVID.

Pros and Cons
Internal promotion, no holiday pay.
Dictator/Tyrant like management at this specific location. Biweekly pay.

After 20 years of service with Food Lion I suffered a nervous breakdown. They expect way too much from from one person. And when you try to speak up they just tell you, you're just being negative. Just stay positive. Stay positive and do my job and carry someone else well...? Hmmm... Don't let Food Lion drag you down for TWENTY YEARS!

If you're willing to work, you'll be treated like a slave with no time off. You'll constantly be called in on your days off. They'll verbally abuse you if you go over 40 hours a week, but also beg you to work 7 days a week. Got sick from exhaustion and NEED time off? You get written up. Your write-ups don't reset unless company policy changes. You get three for attendance at ANY time and your fired. The "forget" about the fact that your supervisor blows up your phone constantly because they're "short-handed". Have to practically sleep with management for promotions.

Pros and Cons

verbally abusive, over-work, under-pay, corporate policies don't reward hard-workers.
