About Foster Parent

What does a Foster Parent do?

As foster parents, we provide nurturing care to neglected and abused children until they can live with their natural family. We prepare them to move to another permanent placement or to return home. Completing all the required documentation to ensure quality services is also our duty. We follow agency procedures and policies to promote maximum safety practices. Following participants, and the agency's Individual Support Plan (ISP) is also part of our job.

Core tasks:

  • ensuring that the child attends school; monitoring their educational progress;
  • ensuring compliance within Individual Program Plan and Programmatic Intellectual and Developmental Disability Waiver
  • interacting positively with children served and supporting staff to promote their rights
