The store I worked at had older model cash registers, that required a management key turn if there was to be a void or return [annoying]. My GM was understanding when I had a loss in the family about taking the rest of the day off when I became overwhelmed at work. Work-life balance was reasonable and flexible. Other than the annoyance of dealing with an older register/system. The only other thing that this company was slack on was investigating a situation where they suspected me of stealing money. My register had come up short a couple of times prior. The policy was that if your drawer is under by $5.00 or more 3x you were terminated. My GM brought me a printout showing me the days that the missing money occurred, I asked him to double-check those days and see if those days were parallel to days that a particular Ass. Manager was working. It was, but by the time the investigation was done, I was fired and was eligible for rehire.
