About Freight Forwarder

What does a Freight Forwarder do?

As Freight Forwarders, we are tasked with reviewing the environmental records of freight carriers to inform shipping decisions as well as accurately calculating the volume, weight, and costs of goods to be moved. We coordinate with other departments to recommend new shipping routes based on the nature of goods to be shipped, transit times, or security needs while taking into account the environmental impacts of long freights. We also determine the cheapest and most efficient methods of moving goods from one location to another and reserving the necessary space on ships, trains, aircraft, or trucks.

Core tasks:

  • arrange the delivery and storage of the goods when they reach their destination
  • arrange for special transport of sensitive cargoes such as medical supplies, food, and livestock
