What does a Front Desk Manager do?

As Front Desk Managers, we are in charge of the front desk staff. We are the key role players in the reception and support part of a hotel. We supervise the regular operations of front desks and reception units for business. We are tasked with training and overseeing staff, and leading administrative and clerical activities. We also respond efficiently to customer complaints and questions. Preparation of budgets and reports for presentation is also our duty.

Core tasks:

  • define and implement front desk purposes and plans
  • hire, train and motivate staff, and manage the shift timetables
  • answering professionally to guests' complaints and queries, and delivering excellent customer service
  • maintain front desk workplace materials and equipment
  • plan and manage budgets, records, and contracts
