I think, at one time, Gap was a great organization, but like many that saw incredible success in retail in the 80's and 90's, it has become too big for its own good. I enjoyed many of my colleagues there, people cared a lot about what Gap represents and most people were proud to work there. There was always, however, this sense that we were on the Titanic. Turnover was high and a lot of it stemmed, at least from what I saw, from our inability to make an impact in the organization. The company is so large and bureaucratic that you're basically just a small cog in the wheel at this point. There are still some really amazing people there keeping things moving, but the writing is on the wall and everyone see's it. I hope the new CEO Sonya can turn things around because it would be a shame to see such a great American icon go under.

I really loved working at the GAP I wasn’t able to stay there long because I played college sports. We had really great teamwork and the manager was very accommodating. We were able to work at different locations if we weren’t getting enough hours and during each season the store would change to a different design which made everything seem new. The customer flow was decent and as employees we knew we were appreciated. The was good and the area had a lot of traffic.
Pros and Cons
Good benefits, different scheduling managers handling schedules, good discount
Being stuck in one area in one shift or throughout the week
