About General Dentist

What does a General Dentist do?

As General Dentists, we examine and analyze all of the patients’ medical records to administer an accurate treatment such as applying oral sedation or anesthesia before the procedure and prescribing appropriate treatment such as pain killers, and antibiotics after the procedure. We check the patients’ teeth, gums, and other parts of the mouth to determine and diagnose any dental problem, and identify any tooth decay and replace cavities with appropriate fillings by analyzing X-rays and tests. We also perform many basic dental procedures such as extractions, filling cavities, and root canals to correct bite and smile issues caused by a decayed or broken tooth.

Core tasks:

  • order post-procedure diagnostic measures such as X-rays
  • keep accurate records relating to the oral health of patients and the treatments given to them
  • educate our patients on proper brushing techniques, fluoride and flossing use
