About General Ledger Accountant

What does a General Ledger Accountant do?

As General Ledger Accountants, we conciliate financial statements and accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of data. We are in charge of the ledger accounts of the organization, and we are detail-oriented and also accurate. At the end of the month or the end of the year, we record information into the company's accounting ledger and make sure to perform account analysis, to be sure that entries and balances are right.

Core tasks:

  • using addition and subtraction on a daily basis to arrive at a total management report
  • calculating overhead rates that applies to production pieces, with the usage of division and multiplication
  • reconciling account with the general ledger
  • preparing journal entries
  • assisting with tax information
  • closing monthly accounting period
