George Washington University was established in 1821 as a private research institute. United States Congress chartered an act the same year which lead to the establishment of this university. The institute is operating almost 14 colleges and schools. The main campus of George Washington University is situated in Washington, D.C. The foggy bottom campus accommodates the on-campus International Monetary Fund and World Bank while the campus blocks accommodate the department of state and White House. Several research centers and institutes including the National Security Archives and Institute of International Economic Policy are hosted by George Washington University. The other two campuses of the university include the Mount Vernon Campus situated in the neighborhood of Foxhall and the second one named Virginia Science and Technology institute which is Columbia’s largest institute of higher education. The institute is ranked number 66 in the National University tie. A competitive growth environment and broad academic range are highlights of George Washington University.
