Based in Macon, Georgia, the Georgia Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest as well as the strongest voluntary agricultural organizaiton with almost 265,000 families as members. Being an independent, non-governmental organizaiton the membership comprises farm families in rural communities. The membership primarily includes people who want Georgia to be agriculturally successful, progressive, and prosperous. The organizaiton was founded in 1937 by a group of 50 farmers, the organizaiton continues to have a solid grassroots network with around 158 county Farm Bureau organizations.
