Job Description

**Role Summary:**

This position have openings in Engineered Systems, Electronics, Raw Material/Fabrication, C-Class and Metallics commodities.



The Global Commodity Leader will be responsible to identify / drive proactive strategies for Engineering System team with a clear focus on sourcing metrics that runs from cost savings, payment term improvements, supplier relationship management, dual source development, low cost country spend migration, cross functional project management and service productivity



**Essential Responsibilities:**

The Global commodity Leader will use experience / expertise to solve problems, develop / execute objectives, and effect short-term and long-term business goals.

In addition you will:



+ Develop and execute long term, global strategies for the critical ES commodities with annual spend of $50M spread across a global supply base

+ Create short and long term commodity strategies, follow the seven steps strategic sourcing process, lead / influence cross functional team members

+ Manage the standard tollgate processes on the commodity such as forecasting, standard setting, growth playbook creation, Session 2 & Internal Operation Plan

+ Lead supplier strategy for all 3rd party packaging projects and provide strategic as well as tactical level sourcing supportWork closely with commercial / product management team to stay abreast with changing M&S demand and insure packaging capacity is available

+ Establish processes and expectations with both internal and external customers on ownership and management of this spend

+ Help Service team in identifying opportunities to create productivity projects and lead the sourcing portion on it to ensure completion

+ Drive Service Value Cost Productivity annually and maintain the rhythm for future years

+ Be responsible for execution expected in identifying the supplier with right cost, quality & delivery performance for these service value add projects

+ Lead on-going 2nd source projects taking ownership of critical qualification timelines

+ Run weekly project calls with cross functional team, closely managing team''s progress to committed timeline

+ Continually assess project risks and provide timely updates to GE Leadership, proactively communicating any risks / changes to schedule

+ Identify, plan & execute new dual source initiatives on sub commodities in this spend

+ Drive cross functional effort, be persuasive, and ensure timely completion of the projects to avoid business risks

+ Drive strategic relationships with the suppliers and utilize fact based negotiation tactics to secure spend under contract to achieve the stated business goals

+ Lead your commodity''s financials reporting to measure deflation, inflation, special payments and track the progress towards the annual team goal to ensure required contribution is met or exceeded

+ Lead / aid the reporting of team''s numbers with the Sourcing Initiatives team and ensure weekly closures on finances

+ Act as the focal point with the New Product Introduction, Engineering, Product Management, Materials and Quality Team and work towards achieving common business goals

+ Identify and establish strong constructive relationship with key power brokers such as engineering to be able to execute the sourcing projects successfully

+ Set up and lead weekly project review meetings with the cross functional

+ Be systematic and utilize existing project management tools or improve them as needed in order to track and execute various sourcing projects

+ Set up tools to drive smoother processes for the commodity

+ Set up and conduct weekly, monthly rhythms with cross functional teams & suppliers

+ Develop various processes, queries to gain efficiencies in day to day operations

+ Manage commodity''s budget on expenses and investments and monitor and drive 100% execution on identified projects

+ Interface with the business on issues of forecasting, planning, strategy alignment

+ Lead the spend migration to Low Cost countries and drive pole teams to achieve faster project execution



**Qualifications/Requirements:**



+ Bachelor''s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sourcing).

+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commodity Management or Global Supply Chain.

+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills and expertise required in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

+ Ability to work with cross functional teams such as engineering, NPI sourcing, quality, services, materials etc. to achieve timely project execution

+ Ability to work with Global Supply Base

+ Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality certification

+ Strong project planning, project execution skills

+ High Customer Centricity, responsive and a go-getter.
